Name
Tiffany Kacir
Where are you from?
Rochester, MN
What instrument(s) do you play? When did you start playing?
Viola
I started like many Rochester children in 5th grade (age 10) with the BOC (Band, Orchestra, Choir) program and have been playing ever since!
What brought you to Rochester and how did you become involved with The Rochester Pops Orchestra?
I grew up in Rochester and returned to live here after college and now am raising a family here. I heard about the Pops at the time of its inception and knew I had to be apart of it because it was bringing something different to Rochester and was going to be so much fun- and it has!
What is your favorite style of music to play?
I love all styles because of the challenge but I’m a sucker for musicals and movie music
What inspires you to play?
The challenge to keep growing as a musician and use my skills. Ultimately to bring joy to others when we perform our music— we need music in our lives!
What is your favorite piece/concert that The Rochester Pops has played?
There have been so many but I really enjoyed our concert held at the new Lourdes High School which we performed several numbers from films.
What do you do in your free time? (ie hobbies)
When not chasing after two young boys I enjoy crafting (using a Cricut machine) to make cards, wall art, t-shirts, etc.
I also love reading, shopping, binge watching shows on Netflix and taking walks on nature trails or around the neighborhood.
What’s your favorite candy and why?
I’m a milk chocolate fan but my favorite candy is Raisinettes – chocolate covered raisins. I can’t stop eating them once I start.
If you could teleport where would you go and why?
I would teleport to a beautiful white sandy beach by the ocean. Just to feel the sun and walk the shoreline whenever feeling a bit stressed or needed a break.
