About

Mission Statement
The mission of the Rochester Pops Orchestra (RPO) is to share our musicians’ passion for creating and performing orchestral and choral music within and for
our community. We carry out this mission by:

   ·
Presenting regularly scheduled concerts in Rochester, and when possible in other locales and settings, adding to the variety and richness of live
          music
offerings in our area.
   ·         Providing musicians an outlet to exercise their musicianship at a high standard in a variety of musical genres.
   ·         Connecting with youth and adults of diverse backgrounds and helping them to deepen their appreciation and understanding of great music, inspiring
them to develop their own abilities.
   ·        Become an established contributor to the cultural life of the Rochester area by growing and developing our organization according to a deliberate
          strategy implementing
proven methods, and by presenting programs and initiatives that earn the support of a “family” of committed volunteers and
          donors.

Our History
The Rochester Pops Orchestra (RPO) was formed in 2014, and had their first rehearsal on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church of Rochester, Minnesota.  Our roster includes over 70 musicians who all come together to create a unique and diverse ensemble.  The RPO is dedicated to performing professional and entertaining concerts that appeal to all ages and walks of life.  Our music spans from golden oldies, country, easy listening, jazz, big band and todays hits to songs from the stage and screen, Disney, Broadway and video game scores.

Our concert season consists of at least 4 concerts:
– Fall Concert (October)
– Christmas Concert (December)
– Winter Concert (February)
– Spring Concert (April/May)

Our first two concerts (Sunday, October 19, 2013 and Sunday, December 21, 2014) were free concerts so that the community could attend and get an idea of what the Rochester Pops is all about.  Our upcoming concerts will be ticketed events, and will be kept to a very low and affordable cost.  In order to encourage all to attend, any/all students age 13 and under will be welcome to attend at no charge (but will require a ticket), Seniors will have a discounted rate, and all tickets purchased before the date of the concert will be at a reduced fee.

Season Tickets will be available in August each year beginning in 2015 with a greatly reduced rate for all four of our upcoming season performances.  Tickets can be purchased online and through our box office.  More details to come.  We invite you to check out one of our concerts!  Join the Rochester Pops Orchestra & Chorale … Where Music Comes to Life.
