Name |
Brianna McDonough |
Where are you from? |
Lake Geneva, Wisconsin |
What instrument(s) do you play? When did you start playing? |
I have played cello since 1997! |
What brought you to Rochester and how did you become involved with The Rochester Pops Orchestra? |
I moved to Rochester in 2014 (and again in 2016!) to work at Rochester Public Schools as an orchestra teacher. I heard about RPO auditions from another teacher friend, and the rest is history! |
What is your favorite style of music to play? |
Disney, or rock music! |
What inspires you to play? |
Rochester Pops rehearsals are like therapy. I can come to rehearsal with the weight of stress on my shoulders, and leave refreshed. We have amazing musical moments that fill my heart, and give me chills and goosebumps! I hope the audience feels the same! |
What is your favorite piece/concert that The Rochester Pops has played? |
Ghostbusters! |
What other things are you involved with in the Rochester community? |
I enjoy Repertory Theatre performances, intramural sports, trails and parks, and the Rochester food truck scene. |
What do you do in your free time? (ie hobbies) |
I enjoy house projects, knitting, biking, and gardening! |
You’re a new addition in the crayon box. What color would you be and why? |
I would be razzle dazzle rose! It was my favorite crayon as a kid. I was very sassy and adamant about correcting anyone who said my favorite color was just “pink”. Um, excuse me?! It’s razzle dazzle rose! |
Name a song that best describes you and why? |
I know it’s cheesy, but “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman is a fabulous self-love anthem! It’s the reminder we need to grant ourselves grace and patience as we learn and grow, especially in the face of naysayers and negative influences! |
